Today, we venture to "Small Town, USA.” A place where everyone knew everyone and a stranger wouldn’t go unnoticed. When a young girl disappeared after getting off the school bus, the entire community came together to aid in the search. After she was found murdered, those who lived in Rices Landing, Pennsylvania would have to consider that the person responsible, may be one of their own.

When Alicia Markovich went to visit her father in April of 1987, no one would have expected that she would never return home. Whilst authorities presumed she had just ran away, a lack luster search for the girl failed to yield results. But with more and more time passing, and still no sign of the young teen, police began to realize that Alicia's fate, may be more dire than they originally perceived.
As the 35th anniversary of Alicia's disappearance approaches, we are joined by Lori Hiner, a member of the Justice for Alicia Markovich campaign. She, along with many others, remain encumbered by questions left unanswered, and through their work, hope to find justice.

Kathy left her house on the evening of November 21st, 1971, telling her sister she'd be right back; she was just heading out to grab some snacks. But as the night crept forward, Kathy never returned, and on the following day, her brutally beaten body was discovered, and police scrambled to find her killer. As their search moved forward, politics, multiple agency involvement, and a lack of DNA evidence collection, all became an encumbrance to the investigation. With few suspects on their list, would police finally hone in on their initial person of interest, even without forensic evidence to back it up? Or would an unexpected confession decades later hold the key to who killed Kathy?

Todays episode is a very special one and one we have become incredibly invested in. We will be covering the 1978 murder of Theresa Corley. While researching, we had the amazing opportunity to speak with Gerri, Theresa's sister, at length regarding her case.
Theresa was 19 years old when she was found strangled to death along a Massachussetts highway. As we worked our way through the case, we learned of those most likely responsible, but also became aware of deep ties throughout the small town of Bellingham, that link many of the suspects together.
As important as all of the cases we cover are, this one has become particularly meaningful to us, and we hope you take the time to listen.
